The Greater Cairo Wastewater Project is a $4 billion project with a 20 year project life. Extensive progress has been achieved with the installation of collection systems and treatment plants to dramatically improve the quality of life in the area. The new collection systems have utilized vitrified clay for 96% of the installations. Denlok® jacking pipe has been a part of this success story. 24" X 2 m. (DN600) DENLOK® jacking pipes were selected and installed in some very congested urban areas using the microtunneling method.
DENLOK® jacking pipe and the microtunneling method have been a great success on the Cairo Project. With the backdrop of the 5000 year old pyramids DENLOK® jacking pipe can be expected to stand up to the needs for the next milleniums
